And So It Goes…

As regular readers will know (and if you aren’t why aren’t you?) back at the end of October last year, I was the victim of an assault which resulted in a broken leg and a scratched cornea.

This afternoon I was given an update of the situation by the Police Officer investigating the crime. After the story appeared in the local press, four witnesses came forward, apparently under duress of their mothers. However, when the witnesses were questioned they refused to make a statement, although the police did manage to ascertain the name of an individual who was and remains, the chief suspect. When the Police interviewed the suspect, he lawyered up and just said “no comment”. The forensic service were unable to gain any evidence from my clothing, and as the attack took place away from CCTV there are no other potential sources of evidence. And there it lies, the Police are frustrated because their information leads them to be pretty sure they know who was responsible, but the wall of silence surrounding him is currently preventing further action. I could instigate a civil action, but the lack of admissible evidence suggest that the chances of succeeding are low.

  2. That just stinks doesn’t it? I’m sorry there’s nothing else I can say 😦

  3. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting any other outcome.
