Any Colour You Like

At this time of year, when the sun shines it is time to make hay. Well not quite yet, but it is time for photographers to grab their kit and head out to the woods while the bluebells are out. I went to one of my favourite haunts, Cowleaze Wood near Stokenchurch., and had to beat the other photographers away with my tripod. Trying to capture the vast expanse of blue is a challenge as it so often turns out as a thin blue line, when you review the photographs. Some of the low-angle shots were taken whilst standing in a convenient pit some 4′ deep.

I also made it to Virginia Water and the Valley Gardens to view the Azaleas and Rhododendrons. They are about a week away from reaching full colour, but are already bright enough to damage your retinas!

The pictures in these galleries are all High Dynamic Range images, batch processed from brackets of five shots. The processing has been fairly rough and ready due to the sheer number of images taken (600 across the two outings). When I’ve decided on the best, I’ll reprocess them manually and add a bit of PhotoShop stardust.
