It never Raines but it pours
So there I am at some unearthly hour of the morning, having just watched “LA Story”, when it is rapidly followed by something I hadn’t seen before. Jeff Goldblum as “Raines“, an LA detective who sees visions of murder victims and chats to them while he solves the crimes that lead to their death. It got scheduled against CSI and only ran for seven episodes, which seems a shame as it is cute and quirky, and Jeff Goldblum is pretty restrained. I’ve always had a soft sport for Jeff since he appeared in Life Story a 1987 BBC production, one of the first and still one of the best, Docu-dramas. Incidentally, I have had (several) drinks at The Eagle in Cambridge. Oh and “Earth Girls Are Easy” is pretty funny too.

Oh yeah – Earth Girls are Easy was good fun!
I liked that series, ‘Raines’. I began watching it, was quite drawn in, and then it was canceled. CSI is fine and good, but it’s old news. And the closest equivalent, ‘Ghost Whisperer’, is too woo-woo and not at all quirky.
Quirky = good.
