On Working On Christmas Day
Steven Redgrave, The Greatest Olympic Athlete Ever (and whom [co-incidentally] lives near the Rebellion Brewery) would always train on Christmas Day, knowing that his rivals were slumming it up in front of the TV and hogging out on the Turkey.
In a similar vein I always enjoy working on Christmas Day, and feeling a smug frisson of moral superiority over the sloths of the world. In the past I have built websites, moved compost, dug the garden over, cleaned out fish tanks, woken the neighbours with the garden shredder and mended bikes and cars. This year I am painting ceilings, and yes, I have the glow.

Painting? I would like to invite you to my house next Christmas. I will pay you in Amber Cookies.
