Sunshine on a Rainy Day
It’s grim and wet and Autumnal and dark (the clocks went back last night) so I’ve been through some photographs I took several weeks ago at the RHS Gardens at Wisley.

It hasn’t been as wet here in the deep south as it has been in the Lake District. I have a friend who has competed in the KIMM (Karrimor Mountain Marathon – now renamed the OMM [Original Mountain Marathon], but known to all and sundry as the KIMM) every year for the past eight or so years. However this year, she wasn’t able to take part because the father of her son refused to look after him for the weekend. It turned out a good one to miss. 90 mph winds and biblical rain forced the first-ever abandonment of the event. Ten years ago my friend and i took her then 3 year old son to The Lakes for his first experience of camping. We couldn’t get to the campsite on our first day due to flooding, and when we did, we had 80mph wind and horizontal rain, which was, quite interesting.
The red dahlia half-kissed by the sun – lovely!
Those wicker sculptures were intriguing. I like that sort of organic feature.
