Getting (to) The Blues

It has recently become my habit to go to the Maryport Blues Festival, and stay with friends in Cockermouth. This year, with Chuck Berry on the bill, is to be no exception.

I had thought that the rise in Petrol prices would be bringing public transport more into line with the costs of motoring. So imagine my surprise when I checked the price of rail tickets, only to discover that it would cost me double the price of the fuel to travel to the Lake District and back. Coach travel was half the price, but I’m not spending 11 hours making a 5 hour journey in a vehicle designed to transport midgets. Damn the environment! I’m going to the Blues by Car.

At least I can take all my technology and Carry On Blogging.
