Extra-ordinary
Always had a liking for k.d.lang, well the hits that I knew, at least (Constant Craving, Miss Chatelaine,) but until I saw her in a concert recorded at St Luke’s in London with the BBC concert orchestra string section (and a band from straight out of central casting), I hadn’t realised quite what an extraordinary voice she possesses. Quite definitely technically the finest female voice in modern popular music, and heaps of emotion and personality to go with it.
Just need to go and add some things to my amazon wish list. Do your ears a favour and check her out.

She’s a talent indeed. Several years ago she opened for Sting when he was touring his ‘Brand New Day’ tunes, and my husband and I were fortunate enough to attend at an outdoor amphitheatre nestled in the rolling foothills near Mt. Diablo. She impressed us with her remarkable range of material, as well as her playful wit. Interesting pairing, Sting and k.d. lang.
