When a + is a –

Today, Channel 4, a terrestrial TV broadcaster in the UK launched a new time-shifted service C4+1. This joins an ever growing list of such services now running on digital terrestrial TV (Film4+1, E4+1, ITV2+1 to name but 3) and presumably a whole lot more on satellite TV. These channels broadcast the same programmes as the main channel, but delayed by an hour. So the question is, why isn’t it called C4-1? C4+1 is surely what C4 will be broadcasting an hour from now, not what was broadcast an hour ago?

I think this is definitive proof that educational standards have been slipping, despite the apparent rise in GCSE passes.
